Wizz Air opens new route from Warsaw to Gothenburg

Wizz Air, the largest low cost - low fare airline in Central and Eastern Europe announced today that it would launch another new flight between Poland and Scandinavia. By introducing Gothenburg, Wizz Air will add its 11th destination from Warsaw. The new service will start on 18 June 2006.

Gothenburg will be Wizz Air's third destination in Sweden and goes in line with the company's strategy to strengthen its market leadership in Warsaw - and Poland overall - as well as to continue to develop itself into an important market player in Scandinavia.

According to the official data of the Polish Civil Aviation Authorities published on 9 February 2006, Wizz Air remains the largest low fare airline and reinforces its position as the second largest airline in Poland. Based on the report Wizz Air has 12% share of the total Polish aviation market, double that of the next following airline. In 2005 with 1.9 million passengers Wizz Air was one of the fastest growing airlines in Europe with growth rate of 233% over 2004.

The first flight to/from Göteborg City Airport will take off on 18 June 2006, and will be operated 3 times a week initially.
Regular one way fares start from as low as SEK 368/PLN 131 including taxes and charges. As an introductory offer a limited number of seats are available at a promotional fare of SEK 328/PLN 111 including taxes and charges for bookings till 31 March 2006.
