Germanwings' Cologne/Bonn base now offers the broadest range of routes of any low-cost airline in continental Europe. And with the addition of 6 new routes, Germanwings continues to increase the gap between its competitors. As a result of this expansion Germanwings will be stationing twelve of its total of 22 aircraft at its base airport Cologne/Bonn for the summer of 2006.
Germanwings fly daily to Cologne/Bonn from London Gatwick, London Stansted, Birmingham, Edinburgh and Dublin airports. They also fly daily from London Stansted to Stuttgart and in November will commence their new route from London Gatwick to Hamburg.
Flights to the Swedish city of Göteborg will be available four times per week and will extend Germanwings' network in Northern Europe. Danzig completes the Germanwings route network in the direction of Poland, and flights will be available three times a week. Jerez and Alicante add two more new tourist destinations in Spain - there will be two flights per week to Jerez and three flights per week to Alicante.
Heraklion on the Greek island of Crete will join the island destinations of Palma and offering sun-loving customers a further holiday destination in the Mediterranean with the guarantee of good weather.
For Stuttgart, Antalya is an excellent addition to the existing Germanwings flights to Istanbul and Ankara and will be covered three times per week. Also the new Ibiza connection from Berlin-Schönefeld is served by one of the two aircraft stationed there and offers the capital residents one of the hippest holiday/party destinations from 19 Euro including all taxes and charges.
